Brand Introduction

For more than a hundred years, Nestlé has protected generations of babies to grow up healthily. Today, in 34 R&D centers around the world, 5,000 nutrition experts are committed to developing safe and high-quality nutritional products to interpret the real needs of babies. The advanced R&D system has kept Nestle at the forefront of maternal and infant nutrition, helping parents to give babies more health and care.

In the mid-19th century Europe, food production was generally small. As living conditions change - towns become larger and larger, the railway network is well laid, and purchasing power also increases, and the food manufacturing industry begins to see a bright future.

Although they knew that breast milk was the best nutritional food for babies, European mothers were still in a dilemma at that time: they wanted to feed their babies with their breast milk, but some realistic situations made them have to choose artificial synthesis. Nutritious foods are used to replace breast milk, while those animal milk that is difficult to digest makes alternative foods often threaten the baby's health and even cause the baby's death.

Originality, tenacity, and maximum safety have become the eternal foundation of the Nestlé brand. Mr. Henry Nestlé, who has passed 50, has become a manufacturer who likes to meet new challenges. In 1875, Nestlé, 61, sold its personal company and created "Société Farine Lactée Henri NEST Lé", continuing to work hard to meet the needs of babies around the world.

"Nestle" means "Little Bird's Nest". This warm bird's Nest is not only a symbol of Nestle, but also contains the concepts that Nestle insists on: care, safety, nature, and nutrition. "Baby's health, our commitment", Nestlé has listened to the baby's voice for 140 years and protected the healthy growth of generations of babies.

Nestle in China

Headquartered in Switzerland, Nestlé Group is one of the largest food companies in the world. However, Nestlé also has a long history in China. For a century, Chinese consumers have become very familiar with and trusted in the Nestlé brand.

1908: Nestlé opened its first sales office in China in Shanghai. Nestlé was one of the first foreign businessmen to enter China and had a firm commitment to China.

1980: Nestlé began to discuss with the Chinese government that it invested in and built a factory in China and brought its world-class know-how and extensive expertise in nutritional products and food processing to China.

1990: Nestlé's first joint venture in mainland China began operation and subsequently built several factories. Nestlé has helped China save a lot of foreign exchange in this regard by using local raw materials to locally manufacture equally high-quality food and replace imported products. Now 99% of Nestlé’s products sold in mainland China are manufactured locally.

2001: Nestlé established the Shanghai Nestlé R&D Center in Shanghai. This R&D center is committed to applying technology and nutrition research, and develops nutritious foods that Chinese consumers love and are suitable for Chinese tastes and consumption capacity.

2006: Nestlé's direct investment in Greater China from Switzerland has reached RMB 7 billion.
