In 1874, just one year after German immigrant Frederick Kapp won the medal at the 1873 London International Exhibition, moved his pipe retail business from London to Dublin, Ireland, where he opened A new tobacco and pipe shop that manufactures and sells pipes made of sesapwood and thorn roots, is a relatively new material for the market. In less than a year, Frederick hired a young Latvian carpenter named Charles Peterson to help with production and repairs.
In 1890, after 15 years of handling and repairing a large number of pipes, and critical thinking about how to improve the design of pipes, Peterson filed and obtained a patent in his own name called "Some new and beneficial for tobacco pipes." Improvements” introduced a unique system designed to suck away moisture from smoke and provide a fuller tobacco flavor – a design he will continue to improve over the next eight years. In 1896, Charles Peterson, along with Frederick's son Alfred Henry, took the small pipe shop and smoked after winning two gold medals at the London International Tobacco Trade Fair. The room was transformed into an emerging international export factory, introducing our patented pipe system, and many other classic designs to the hands and minds of enthusiasts around the world, where Cap and Peterson have been retained for generations.
