In 1989, the predecessor of Qionghua Guzheng, the Woodworking Factory in Shuoqiao Town, Gaoyou County, was established, becoming one of the earliest enterprises in China to produce Guzheng wooden blanks. In 1998, the founder of Qionghua Guzheng cooperated with the Institute of Art Engineering of Yangzhou University to establish the Musical Instrument Center, which is one of the earliest classic cases of the Guzheng industry's cooperation with university research institutes.
