Brand Introduction

Liuyang Yipin Xiang Fresh Black Beans was founded during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. The first generation founder, Andy, and his eldest son Li Chunyan, opened the Li Du Zhongtang Ferment Workshop on Haoxing Street, Xiahe, Liuyang City. He studied hard and carefully made it, creating a unique craft for brewing fermented black beans. The product quality ranks among the best and is highly favored by customers. Li Chunyan had a cousin Li Shiliang who was a deacon in the imperial kitchen of the Qing Dynasty. In the sixth year of Xianfeng, he returned to Liuyang to visit his relatives. Li Chunyan gave black beans and brought back to the capital to his cousin. Li Shiliang sent the fermented black beans to the imperial kitchen to cook and present the food to the emperor. Seeing that the meal was rich in color and fresh, fragrant and delicious, he praised it: "It's quite good! It's quite good!" He also ordered the eunuch to give the meal to a first-rank official, which was very praised. Therefore, fermented black beans were named "Yipinxiang" and listed as a court dietary tribute.

In 1852, Li Chunyan moved the "Yipinxiang Dashifang" to Bixiang Street, Changsha, with an annual output of more than 3,000 dan of fermented black beans. Due to the excellent quality, the business is becoming increasingly prosperous and sold to home and abroad. Until 1938, a fire broke out in Changsha and the workshop was destroyed. Faced with the trouble of being in a distant village, the fourth-generation successor Li Qiusheng resolutely moved back to Liuyang and rebuilt the "Yipinxiang Dashifang" on Nanzheng Street.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Li Jinling, the fifth-generation successor, was in charge of workshop management. In 1956, Yipinxiang transferred to a public-private joint venture and soon transitioned to a state-owned enterprise. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, with the support of the government, the fifth-generation successor Li Jinlingyu re-founded Yipinxiang Bean Fermented Black Bean Factory in 1980. At this point, Liuyang's "Yipinxiang Fermented Black Beans" has returned to the people.

Laoyipinxiang fermented black bean factory is now located in Gaoping Town, Liuyang City. The factory covers an area of more than 50 acres, with more than 100 workers, and an annual output value of more than 70 million yuan. It mainly produces more than ten products including "original fermented black beans", "ginger-flavored fermented black beans", "garlic fermented black beans", and "tanjiao treasured fermented black beans", etc.
