Brand Introduction

Engine Alliance, LLC, abbreviation "EA". Founded in August 1996, the GP7200 engine it produced was originally an alternative power for the Airbus A380, and now it has more than 60% of its equipment on the A380. Headquartered in East Hartford, Connecticut, United States, Engine Alliance Corporation (EA) is a joint venture established by GE Aviation Group and P&W (P&W) each invested 50%. Initially, the engine was provided for the Boeing 747-500/600X project, but the aircraft project was eventually cancelled.

Engine Alliance will optimize its products and launch the GP7200 based on the two giants' main products GE90 and PW4000, providing alternative power for the Airbus A380 to compete with Rollo Ronaldo's Trent900.

In 2004, the GP7200 was first tested and the A380 was equipped in 2006. On February 28, 2017, the Engine Alliance (EA) had delivered 500 engines to 125 A380s from five customers. Among them are Emirates 90, Air France 10, Korean Air 10, Etihad Airways 7, and Qatar Airways 8.
