In the sixth year of Dade in the Yuan Dynasty (1302 AD), an imperial tea garden was set up on the banks of Siqu River in Jiuqu River. In the Ming Dynasty, the dragon tuan was abolished and steamed green tuan tea was changed to fried green loose tea. Later, the three reds and seven green oolong tea was rebuilt, which is now called rock tea. Therefore, Wuyi Rock Tea began in the Ming Dynasty and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. It was sold to Western Europe in the 17th century and was famous all over the world.
Dahongpao is the best quality among Wuyi rock tea. Wuyi Rock Tea is produced in Wuyi Mountain in Fujian. Wuyi Mountain is located in the southeast of Chong'an, Fujian, with a radius of 60 kilometers. It has 36 peaks and 99 rocks. There is tea in the rock. Tea is named after rocks, and rocks are famous for tea, so it is named rock tea. Wuyi has a long history of tea production. In addition, there are also named after the growing environment of tea trees, such as the Unseen Sky and the Golden Key; the names of tea trees are named after the shape of the tea trees, such as the Drunken Begonia and the Drunken Dongbin, fishing turtle, phoenix tail grass, jade unicorn, a fragrant branch, etc.; named after the shape of tea trees, such as melon seeds, gold, money, bamboo silk, golden willow, and willow leaf; named after the sprouting of tea trees, such as Welcoming spring willows, not knowing spring, etc.; named after the tea-scented shape, such as cinnamon, stone frankincense, white musk, etc.
Due to the fame of Wuyi Rock Tea, the Yuan Dynasty set up an imperial tea garden in Wuyi Mountain and was responsible for supervising the production of Wuyi Rock Tea for tribute. The Imperial Tea Garden was abandoned in the later years of the Ming Dynasty, and there is an Imperial Tea Garden Tea House built on the ruins.
