Brand Introduction

SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., which was officially established on November 18, 2002, is a large Sino-foreign joint venture automobile company jointly established by Shanghai Automobile Group Co., Ltd., General Motors (China) Co., Ltd. and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd.

SAIC-GM-Wuling has two major production and manufacturing bases, Liuzhou and Qingdao, and has fully implemented General Motors' global manufacturing management system, forming a production pattern of two major series of commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles, as well as micro and small vehicle engines. SAIC-GM-Wuling has a national-level technology center and a "enterprise postdoctoral research station" approved by the Ministry of Personnel, and implements C3P (CAD/CAE/CAM/PDM) automotive development technology system research project, etc., and takes GVDP (global vehicle development process) and GMS (global manufacturing system) as the main methods, so that the company's technological innovation capabilities have been comprehensively improved.

SAIC-GM-Wuling has fully implemented the three platform strategies of commercial vehicle products: "million-based platform, differentiation of platform, and internationalization" to consolidate the competitive advantages of the traditional main market of micro-commercial vehicles. The self-designed and developed micro commercial vehicle "Wuling Zhiguang" is the single platform model with the fastest growing market and the largest domestic sales in the history of China's micro-cars; the self-developed new big micro-car "Wuling Rongguang" is the fastest growing model in China's sales, becoming a representative product for the future development of micro-cars; in September 2010, the compact commercial vehicle "Wuling Hongguang" was successfully launched and created a new market segment and won the CCTV 2010 Economic Passenger Car Award.

Passenger car Lechi is the first high-performance micro-car product put into production by SAIC-GM-Wuling. It has won the best score for the new car quality survey of J?D?Power compact model, and won the award of "The Most Popular Model for Youth" in the 2009 CCTV China Auto Selection; in July 2010, SAIC-GM-Wuling's new passenger car brand "Baojun", was released. The first model Baojun 630 was launched in November of the same year, and will focus on the mid-range car market, which has the largest share in the Chinese market. At this point, SAIC-GM-Wuling has officially entered a new era of both business and passenger cars.
