In 2011, the Foreign Studies Research and Study Pen was selected as the Ministry of Education’s “National Education Science Planning Foreign Language Teaching Research Special Project” as a special pen for research. In 2017, Waiyantong launched the WFi smart pen, equipped with an Android platform, achieving a leap from tradition to intelligence.

In 2018, Waiyantong integrated artificial intelligence, big data and other technological means into product functions, creating an integrated intelligent teaching platform that integrates smart point reading pens, teachers and student APPs, and interactive teaching systems - Waiyantong Interactive Teaching System 2.0. This system has been installed and used in schools across the country. It cooperates with the foreign research institute's audio and electronic reading materials to expand the classroom time and space dimensions and effectively improve the quality of teaching and learning.

In 2019, Waiyantong launched the intelligent point reading pen "Yunruirong VT-10", which closely combines AI artificial intelligence technology, has built-in four core modules and nine innovative functions, turning the point reading pen from a single hardware product to a soft A multi-dimensional intelligent learning tool with integrated hardware.
