Keilwerth
Julius Keilwerth was founded in 1925 and was initially established in the present-day Czech Republic. After World War II, the company moved to its current headquarters in Nauheim, near Frankfurt, Germany.
The real rise of the Carver brand should be said to be from 1986 when jazz saxophonist Peter Ponzol was hired as a consultant to improve jazz styles and redesign Keilwerth saxophone. In the late 1980s, Keilwerth launched its SX90R series and received praise from people from many jazz musicians such as Brandford Marsail, Courtney Pine, Emie Watts, James Moody, Ron Holloway, Mike Smith.
Bossy & Hawkes bought the Keilwerth factory in 1989 and merged it with Schreiber in 1996. The merged company was sold to The music Gruop in 2003. In 2006, The Music Group went bankrupt again. Schreiber & Keilwerth became an independent company. In March 2010, Schreiber & Keilwerth filed for bankruptcy again. On August 1, 2010, it was acquired by the veteran musical instrument manufacturer Buffy.
