BONT was founded in Sydney, Australia in 1975. Mr. Inze Bont, the founder of BONT, was a casual speed skater. He decided to add fiberglass to the back of the leather of the speed skates to get more support. Since then, innovative ideas have emerged. BONT is an early manufacturer of special materials for ice skates, such as glass fiber that started to be used in 1974, Kevlar aramid fiber that started to be used in 1986, carbon fiber that started to be used in 1989, and thermoplastic epoxy resin was used earlier. BONT invented thermoplastic shoes, and the skates and brackets installed on ice skates are early to be adjusted on the sole. In 1980, BONT dominated the double-row wheel speed market, mainly due to BONT's shoe design and unique integrated shoe production technology. BONT is an early company that used shoe covers, magic buckles and aluminum alloy reinforcements to design on double-row wheel shoes. With the introduction of inline-row speed skating shoes, more and more double-row roller skating customers have moved to inline-row roller skating products, so that the double-row roller skating products have disappeared. Until 2008, with the recovery of the double-row roller skating sports and the market, BONT's customers once again asked BONT to return to the double-row roller skate products.
