The British Aquascutum Yagor Lion was founded in London in 1851. The brand has always adopted excellent British tailoring techniques and fabrics, paired with proprietary plaid patterns to design classic and fashionable men's and women's clothing. It is famous for its original military coat, and the Latin word "Aquascutum" means "the defensive object of water". As early as the 19th century, Aquascutum was famous in the UK for selling high-quality clothes and successfully developed the world-famous waterproof wool. Its lining waterproof coats are produced to keep soldiers warm and dry during rainy and biting windy weather. Therefore, during the two world wars, the brand produced cold coats for the army of many countries and became famous.
In March 2017, YGM issued an announcement stating that the company had entered into a sale agreement with Shandong Jining Ruyi Wool Textile Co., Ltd. (Shandong Ruyi, SZ:002193). According to the agreement, YGM TRADING was priced at US$117 million in cash ( Approximately HK$907.9 million) to Shandong Ruyi, all issued share capital of Aquascutum Holdings Co., Ltd.
