Brand Introduction

ZKW Group is a traditional enterprise with a history of 80 years. Karl Zizala founded ZKW in Vienna as early as 1938. The trademark name comes from the initial letter of his name and the "W" representing the Austrian capital. In 1954, ZKW built its current headlight factory in Viselburg.

In 1982, the Mommert family took over ZKW. Starting from the time of producing metal components for motorcycle and truck manufacturers, over the next few decades, it developed into specializing in the production of innovative advanced lighting systems and electronic devices. In 1989, mass production of automobile headlights began, truck headlights began in 1995, and in 2005, adaptive turn headlights (AFS). Laser headlights were manufactured in 2014, and LED matrix headlights began to be produced at the end of 2015.

As an industry leader, ZKW Group has nearly 9,700 employees in Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, China, India, Mexico, South Korea and the United States. In April 2018, ZKW was acquired by LG Electronics 70% and by LG Company 30%. On December 19, 2019, LG's rear light business was integrated into ZKW Group. In the process, ZKW Lighting Systems Korea Co., Ltd. was established, and the factory previously operated by LG in Ningbo (China) was taken over. The rear light business is another milestone in providing 360-degree service to the automotive industry.
