Voith is a global high-tech group. In 1870, Voith built the first water turbine. In the following years, the company first made great progress in Germany and later in the hydropower market around the world. Soon, Voith became an important partner of a major project at that time. At the beginning of the last century, Germany's Heidenheim won a major project in Canada: Voith signed a contract to provide turbines for the Andalo power plant in Niagara Falls. Between 1903 and 1913, Voith supplied 12 hybrid-flow turbines to Canada. The dual-driving turbine with a single-machine power of 12,000 horsepower was the most powerful and powerful device at that time.
