Riley was founded in Manchester in 1897. It was originally a boutique workshop providing sports equipment. With the efforts of a group of British craftsmen, Riley further diversified its production in 1912 and established new factories in Eclinton and other places. Soon, Riley's fame also spread to all parts of the world with the export of its products. The value of Riley's snooker pool tables, billiards and accessories is not only recognized by industry insiders, but also regarded by the public as a symbol of British elite culture.

BCE was founded in 1976 as a coin-operated gaming equipment supplier. In 1980, BCE gradually integrated snooker pool tables into a diverse production portfolio. During 1982-1992, the BCE Westbury snooker table has been used for designated special tables for snooker competitions of all levels in the world. BCE has thus become another major brand in the snooker industry.

In 2002, Mr. Stuart Lacey merged and reorganized Riley and BCE to establish Riley-BCE Group. Today, Riley and BCE's snooker table production base continue to revolve around Eclinton, England. The diverse design, exquisite handicraftsmanship and British elite quality are also continued to be passed down through the efforts of Riley BCE generations of employees.

In early 2014, RILEY-BCE Group revoked the general distribution rights and brand use authorization of the former general distributor in mainland China, and officially established a Chinese branch in Shanghai at the end of the year: Riley- BCE Cue Sports (China ) Co., Ltd] is chaired by Mr. Richard Lacey, the younger brother of Mr. Stuart Lacey, President of RILEY-BCE Group and former Global Sales Director of RILEY, and Will Wu, former Director of Procurement and Quality Technology, Asia, Mr. Wang serves as the legal representative and general manager, and is responsible for the operation of RILEY and BCE brands in China.

In June 2020, in order to further integrate into the Chinese market, Riley's UK headquarters and Riley (China) jointly established the Weirui (Shanghai) Trading Company in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and was jointly established by Mr. Richard Lacey As chairman, Mr. Will Wu became general manager, and he was fully responsible for the operation and management of the Riley brand in the Chinese region. Riley's trademark registered in China will also be transferred to the name of Wei Rui (Shanghai) Trading Company (the Riley trademark registered in the UK and other countries will continue to be held by Riley's UK headquarters) in lieu of Riley's UK. The headquarters directly authorized Riley brand to Riley-BCE Cue Sports ( China ) Co., Ltd., laying a solid foundation for the Riley brand to further take root in the Chinese local market. Since then, the Riley brand has opened a new page in China's history.
