Pohang (Zhangjiagang) Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. is abbreviated as PZSS. The company is located in the Yangtze River Economic Development Zone of Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. It is bordered by Shanghai in the east, Nanjing in the west, Yangtze River in the north, and Suzhou and Wuxi in the south. PZSS was established on February 15, 1997 and was jointly invested and constructed by South Korea's POSCO and Jiangsu Shagang Group. It is a Sino-foreign joint venture for the production of stainless steel.

The company's first phase of cold-rolled stainless steel project was officially started in April 1997 and was completed and put into production on January 22, 1999, covering an area of ​​more than 120,000 square meters. The total investment in the first phase of the project is US$216 million, and the designed production capacity is 140,000 tons of cold-rolled stainless steel sheets per year.

In order to better meet the needs of users and improve the supply and demand of stainless steel cold-rolled rail products in China, with the approval of relevant national departments, PZSS increased its investment on December 14, 2001 and began to build the second phase of stainless steel cold-rolled thin plate project. The second phase of the project started on February 22, 2002, and the construction ceremony was held on March 19. The entire project was completed and put into production on September 19, 2003 and the area of ​​the project increased to 208,000 square meters, making the annual production of cold-rolled stainless steel plates The production capacity has reached 400,000 tons, and the product quality and service quality have reached the world's advanced level.

In line with the business philosophy of solving the raw material supply problems of cold-rolled stainless steel manufacturers (PZSS and Qingdao Pohang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd.) invested by POSCO in China and contributing to the development of China's steel industry, it is also to reduce production costs and increase PZSS POSCO decided to carry out the expansion project of STS's ironmaking institute based on the first and second phases of ZSS. The expansion project is located on both sides of the Yangtze River Highway in Daxin Town, Zhangjiagang City, 8Km away from the first and second phases of the project. The project includes three main projects: stainless steel smelting, continuous casting and hot rolling, and the design and production capacity is 600,000 tons of hot-rolled stainless steel plates per year. The products are mainly 300 series and 400 series high value added hot rolled stainless steel. The expansion project was approved by the state on September 8, 2003, and the total amount of the approved expansion investment was US$744 million. The investment ratio is 82.5% of South Korea's POSCO, and 17.5% of Jiangsu Shagang Group. On October 31, 2003, the PZSS expansion project command headquarters was established and the planning and design of the stainless steel expansion project was started. After 19 months of hard work and intensive construction, the expansion project completed the construction process of a steel iron station on July 31, 2006, officially announcing that PZSS has since become a veritable steel station.

The development of PZSS will never stop. In order to meet the market's needs for wide-frame materials, expand product varieties and the possibility of high-alloy production, and increase product added value, on December 1, 2009, the company invested in the construction of wide-frame cold-rolled stainless steel Production line. The equipment is 2 20Senjimier rolling mills (ZRM), 1 annealing and pickling production line (CAPL), and a set of supporting equipment such as fine steel coil preparation machine and longitudinal shearing unit. The product thickness is 0.3~5.0mm and the width is 1000~1600mm. ZRM introduced the French DMS20 Roller Seng Jimil rolling mill: all CAPL equipment was introduced from European countries such as Germany and the Netherlands. Laser welding machines were used for the first time in China's stainless steel industry; online SPM and TL The application effectively reduces production costs.
