Taigang Group was founded in 1934 and was formerly the Northwest Steel Plant affiliated to Northwest Industrial Company, which was founded during the Republic of China. At the beginning of the founding of New China, it was positioned as the development of special steel by the state, and successively produced China's first furnace of stainless steel, the first hot-rolled silicon steel sheet, the first piece of electromagnetic pure iron, and it is also China's first stainless steel refining furnace and the first The birthplace of the stainless steel vertical slab continuous casting machine, the first cold-rolled stainless steel production line, the first cold-rolled broadband stainless steel bright annealing line, and the first stainless steel hot and cold coil mixed annealing pickling line. In 1998, it initiated the establishment of an A-share listed company, Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. (stock code: 000825.SZ); in 2006, it achieved overall listing of its main steel business. On December 23, 2020, the joint reorganization with China Baowu was achieved, and the controlling shareholder was changed to China Baowu; on January 1, 2021, the company was entrusted to manage Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Baowu.

Taigang Group has been focusing on the development of special steels mainly based on stainless steel, and has built innovations such as the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Stainless Steel Materials, National Physical and Chemical Laboratory, Shanxi Stainless Steel Engineering Technology Research Center, Shanxi Railway Vehicle Steel Engineering Technology Research Center, etc. The platform has more than 800 core and proprietary technologies mainly based on stainless steel with independent intellectual property rights, and presided over or participated in the completion of more than 70% of my country's stainless steel plate and belt product standards. At present, a cluster of high-efficiency, energy-saving and long-lived steel products mainly consisting of stainless steel, cold-rolled silicon steel, and high-strength and tough series of steels has been formed. Stainless steel products cover the entire series of plate-belt-shaped wire pipes, ultra-wide, ultra-thick and ultra-thin limit specifications, pen tip steel, hand-teared steel, nuclear power steel, railway steel, duplex stainless steel, high-grade silicon steel for new energy vehicles and other high-precision tips The products are well-known at home and abroad.
