Founded in 2015, Ouster Inc. was founded by Angus Pacala, former co-founder of Quanergy, a unicorn in the lidar field. It is headquartered in San Francisco, USA. It is a lidar research and development manufacturer, and its products include 9 lidars in three series, OS0, OS1, and OS2. Ouster is committed to building a new generation of lidar sensors for large-scale applications, and is committed to improving product resolution, visual distance and form factor parameters.

Ouster currently has more than 400 companies covering industries ranging from autonomous vehicles to industrial robots, agriculture, surveying and mapping, defense and drones.

Ouster’s global network of lidar distributors is composed of global partners who provide customers with local procurement, live demonstrations, integrated expertise and ongoing support. Currently, Ouster's product distributors are located in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. At the end of December 2019, ouster officially announced the establishment of offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong, China, and reached cooperation with many domestic companies in China to jointly explore the sales market of Ouster's products in China.
