HKS was founded in the early 1970s. The company name was named "HKS" by the then-leading figures Hiroyuki Hasegawa (the founding engineer of Yamaha Motor), Kitagawa, Sigma Automotive and the first letter of a company. HKS not only produces engine parts, exhaust, shock absorbers and other automobile modification performance parts, but also develops and produces natural gas engines and aircraft parts with an annual output value of 7 billion yuan. It is a modified parts company listed in Japan.
HKS sales network (agents) is located in 17 countries around the world. In addition to subsidiaries of UK, Thailand and the United States, HKS established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Shanghai, China in 2012. (Shanghai) Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. is currently responsible for the sales and management of the Greater China Circle.
