ECT
Everett Charles Technologies (“ECT”) has played a leading role in developing advanced technology board test products since 1965, with over 100 patents. ECT originated from the company's iconic POGO spring probe contacts, expanding its business scope through acquisitions. In addition, it has expanded its growth scope to include bare board testing systems, fly needle systems, bare board fixtures, load board fixtures, testing services, and international manufacturing of equipment, sockets and performance boards for semiconductor testing operations. In December 2013, ECT became a subsidiary of Xcerra Corporation (NASDAQ: XCRA).
In October 2018, Xcerra was acquired by Cohu. Together, they become the global leader in back-end semiconductor and PCB testing equipment and services, with a wider product portfolio and expanded customer base in a potential market of over $6 billion.
ECT's participation in all-round testing has created unique synergies that are unparalleled in the industry. Thanks to the unique fixture technical requirements for bare board and load board testing, the company is able to interchange application hardware and software innovations between applications. For example, contact-related problems caused by the fine spacing and high density requirements of bare boards also lead to unique detection capabilities in the application field of load boards. Similarly, the company's test probe products benefit from the various load plate test fixture application requirements supported by ECT. Thanks to this integration engineering, the company has become better in every aspect of testing while developing products and technologies for specific applications.
As a solution-based company, ECT has developed standards for patented technologies such as the Fastite wire termination method for SMT probes, the Diss-Stat fixture kit functionality designed to protect circuit boards from electrostatic discharges, and ValuGrid bare board drop-off fixture design for high-tech bare board. Dedicated to quality, the ECT manufacturing plant in Fontana, California has been certified ISO 9001:2015.
Recognizing the importance of customer service, ECT continues to seek more effective ways to communicate and cooperate with customers. As circuit boards become more complex, communication links become more and more important. With the trend of miniaturization, ECT is developing new and better ways to test them. The company has a talented engineering team and management philosophy that encourages creativity and commitment to R&D. ECT continuously develops technologies and products to improve board testing while creating fast and economical board testing methods.
