Brand Introduction

Headquartered in Stockdorf, near Munich, Germany, Waibast Group Corporation was founded in 1901. It is a global partner for innovation systems for almost all global auto manufacturers. It is one of the world's top 100 automotive spare parts suppliers. There are three core business areas: automotive sunroof system, convertible folding roof system, and parking heater.

Webaster's existing product solutions include: panoramic sunroof, traditional car sunroof, convertible folding roof system, high-voltage electric heater, traditional heater, power battery system and charging solutions. In addition, Webaster provides customized post-installation solutions and services for thermal management systems and electrified travel to the automotive aftermarket.

In 2019, the group's sales reached 3.7 billion euros, with more than 50 branches around the world (more than 30 are production bases) and more than 14,000 employees. The company name Webasto comes from the abbreviation of the founder of the company Wilhelm Baier and Stockdorf, where the company is located. Webaster began providing original supporting services to Chinese automakers in 2001 and has experienced rapid development, with 11 bases in China. In 2020, Webaster's sales in China exceeded 10 billion yuan and has more than 4,000 employees. The Wuhan factory, which was built in 2019, is also the Asia-Pacific manufacturing base for Vaibast high-voltage electric heaters and charging piles.

In order to better meet the localized technology development needs of Chinese customers, the company established a R&D center in Shanghai in 2004, and an automobile sunroof factory and power battery center in Jiaxing in 2019. Jiaxing Power Battery Center can provide localized power battery pack development and testing services, and is also Webaster's battery pack manufacturing base in China.
