The Toro Company of the United States was founded in 1914 and is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the beginning of its establishment, it manufactured engines for Bull Tractor Company’s best-selling farm tractors. In 1996, Toro entered the agricultural micro-irrigation field by acquiring James Hardy Irrigation Company, and actively expanded its global business by providing industry-leading irrigation products.

In 2013, Toro (China) Irrigation Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in Xiamen, Fujian Province. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Toro Company in China. Currently, it is mainly engaged in the research and development, production, sales and services of agricultural irrigation equipment; it is also engaged in the sales and services of other Toro company products.
