THIELE was founded in 1935 by August Thiele. In the early days, eight employees still used forged fire welding chains. Over time, with the introduction of automatic bending and welding machines, the heavy manual labor has been greatly simplified.
In the 1950s, THIELE began to produce the mining industry. Stainless steel (23 MnNiMoCr 54), which is commonly used in high-performance chains today, is developed and tested by engineers. All heavy mining chains are designed by THIELE, which is also responsible for the development of mining chains with a rated size from 22mm to 48mm.
In the late 1960s, the product range was expanded by acquiring Schlieper's company's production of heavy anchor chains and the acquisition of Nordland, which produces anti-slip chains. Today, THIELE Group produces 5,000 different types of chains and accessories. Time and again THIELE has proven its position as a leading innovator in the field, creating 915 meters and 100 tons of anchor chains.
THIELE has been using CAD to build and design products for years, relying on a computer-controlled production process to manufacture chains and forged parts to ensure you consistently high quality.
