Tianlang is a British audio brand affiliated to Tulsamir Manufacturing Company. Tannoy Professional is committed to integrating extensive engineering expertise, market experience and the lasting value of the Tannoy brand, focusing on commercial installation and performance audio.
In 1926, Tulsemere Manufacturing Company was established in London. In March 1932, the company's founder Guy R Fountain registered "Tianlang" as a trademark. "Tannoy" is the abbreviation for "tantalum alloy". Fountain has developed an AC power electrolytic rectifier with tantalum and lead alloys as materials, which has been widely used to charge early radio batteries. Soon, Tianlang began to manufacture dynamic speakers that use DC charging, and by the late 1930s, it also began to produce microphones and amplifiers. During the war, Tianlang provided 600 communication systems to the Royal Air Force alone, and the Army and Navy also requisitioned similar equipment. Users in the army used the "Tianlang" equipment to communicate with each other, so "Tianlang" became synonymous with the sound reinforcement system and was included in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1948.
