The predecessor of Taiwan Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., Changhua Spinning Fiber Factory was founded in 1965. In its early days, it was mainly engaged in the manufacturing of wood pulp, and the development of spinning, weaving and dyeing and finishing downstream. .
Since 1973, factories such as Nailon raw wire, Nailon processing wire, Nailon weaving fabric have been successively built.
In 1987, in addition to Changhua factory, the PTA factory was built in the Longde factory and began to enter the petrochemical industry.
In 1990 and 1994, PS and ABS factories were built in the Xingang factory area, and then entered the plastics industry.
In 1995, the company participated in the Sixth Light Project Plan of Enterprises, cooperated with the vertical integration strategy of the upstream and downstream production of petrochemical raw materials in the Mailiao Island Industrial Zone, and began to invest in the construction of Aroma, SM, Phenol, PTA, DMF, PS, ABS, and PP, PC and HAC and other factories, their products cover petrochemical midstream raw materials, general-purpose plastics and engineering plastic raw materials; the company also participated in the transfer of investment to establish Formosa Plastics and Petrochemical Company, Mailiao Industrial Port and Mailiao Automobile and Electrical Company to increase the company's profit sources.
In 1999, each factory in Liuqing was completed and put into production one by one. In 2000, the revenue of petrochemical and plastics exceeded that of the fiber and textiles, and the company officially transformed into the petrochemical and plastics industries.
Taihua has now developed into an enterprise that spans the upstream and downstream production of petrochemical, plastic raw materials and textile fiber industry.
