In 1934, Paul and Wilhelm Stöber jointly opened a mechanical workshop, STOBER Configurator. Driven by their will, they turned their ideas into reality and continuously optimized them. Later, this spirit has been affecting the company to this day. In 1943, STOBER's independent research and development of variable speed drives its launch in the market, setting off a wave of revolution in manufacturing enterprises. In 1982, the management rights of the enterprise were handed over to Siegfried Thiel, Ursula Thiel and Bernd Stöber.
As the company's technical director, Bernd Stöber realized the importance of electric speed regulation to drive technology very early. STOBER starts selling transmissions, servo regulators and related software. The MGS, a matching reducer motor system, is widely favored for its modular structure and unparalleled quality. The establishment of an assembly subsidiary in Maysville, Kentucky, USA in 1991 was a big step for STOBER to become a global enterprise. In 1993, STOBER became the supplier that directly combines high-precision planetary gear reducers with dynamic servo motors.
The company has been managed by Patrick Stöber and Andreas Thiel since 2003. As the scope of products and services continues to expand, STOBER has gradually become a successful system supplier and experienced partner, with one-stop ability to supply precisely matched driver and automation solutions. With the increasing demand for driving technology in the market and the increasing importance of driving technology, enterprises are constantly increasing their investment in production capacity, STÖBER global network, and the modernization of buildings and production facilities.
Looking ahead, STOBER faces the challenges of digitalization and will invest heavily in overall solutions and a strong global production, sales and service business. At the end of 2019, STOBER added another subsidiary - STOBER Drives Systems Technology, settled in Taicang.
