Since 1860, the history of SIMOND has been related to mountaineering. The SIMOND brothers used to work as blacksmiths and specialize in producing farming tools. With the rise of modern mountaineering, the SIMOND brothers built the first generation of ice axes in Chamonix, a town under Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps. In 1860, Frangois simond decided to devote all his energy to the essentials and implementation of mountaineering equipment. Now SIMOND is still a family business. The chairman and general manager of Ludger simond is the third generation successor of the family. The factory is always located in the Chamonix Valley, and it is the world's mountaineering capital.
