Radio Flyer is an American riding toy brand headquartered in Chicago. Since 1917, Radio Flyer has been developing outdoor products including tricycles, bicycles, scooters and other outdoor products for children of different ages.
In 1914, the young Antonio Pasin came to the United States. By working hard, he finally saved money to rent a studio in Chicago. In this studio, he began to manufacture and sell phonograph wooden boxes to other companies. But besides making wooden boxes, he also loves to make some other things. For example, for the convenience of work, he built a hand-pulled trailer. As a result, hand-pulled trailers gradually became more popular than phonograph wooden boxes, so he turned to design more hand-pulled trailers. In 1917, the company was born.
In 1933, Chicago hosted the World's Fair, and Radio Flyer was invited to become an important exhibition manufacturer at the first time. This is an important brand promotion opportunity for Radio Flyer. So with the help of Alfonso Iannelli, Antonio successfully created a 45-foot-tall statue of a boy made of wood and plaster, depicting a boy playing with a trailer. The statue eventually attracted attention at the fair, while also allowing more people to learn about Radio Flyer.
In 1950, inspired by popular movies and TV series at that time, such as referring to the popular Micky MouseClub or Davy Crockett, Radio Flyer used this as design inspiration to create more new products, as well as new colors and Special packaging, and this change has led Radio Flyer's products to sell well.
In 1997, Radio Flyer built a huge toy car to celebrate its centenary, and also received the Guinness Record certified "World's LargestWagon".
It is still a Chicago-based family-owned business, dedicated to developing outdoor products including tricycles, bicycles, scooters and more for children of all ages.
