Brand History

In the spring of 1892, William H. Danfoss graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. At that time, his father suggested to him: Do some business that can meet the needs of many people no matter what season it is all year round. ”

In January 1894 William H. Danfoss founded Prina and began producing Omalin, the first commercial feed for horses and mules. At that time, a mule named Mordprena with a satisfying smile almost became a trademark of Oumulin products. Our company's first feed product was produced in two new factories in St. Louis. The feed bags were hand-sewn, weighing 175 pounds and had a shovel inside.

Driven by the slogan "Prina - Highest Quality" at the end of the 19th century, the feed industry continued to develop, and Danfoss also had complete control of the entire company. In 1902, the company was renamed Roston Preina, and a new trademark was born. Soon the new trademark was quickly applied to all products and activities related to Preina.

1904 St. Louis World's Fair: Roston Preenna distributed shopping bags with corporate trademarks as free gifts during the expo, and began to establish the image of R&D and innovative products.

In 1916, Preina launched fattening pig feed. In order to distinguish Prina's products from other products, William H. Danfoss used some soldier vocabulary when advertising.

In 1927, the company established its factory in Canada, becoming the first feed factory in Woodstock and Lake Ontario. After 75 years, this factory has done many modern projects, and the factory is still in operation.

In 1928, Prina launched Chekers for the first time, the world's first pellet feed, and the livestock feed industry also ushered in a revolution.

In 1935, the first type of dry feed for feeding weaned calfs alone (without hay).

In 1948, Danfoss invested in the production of a film "Customer's Shoes" and asked all employees of Prina to watch it as well as dealers.

After 85 years of extraordinary life in 1955 on Christmas Eve, William H. Danfoss quietly passed away.

In the 1950s, Prina continued to grow steadily in the US market and successfully entered the European market.

In the early 1960s, Prina carried out an unprecedentedly successful advertising campaign, with the protagonists of the advertisement being a little girl and a calf. The poster's billboard is spread all over the country and is used in promotions for suckling pig material, piglet material, and growth pig.

In the 1960s, Prina entered the Asian market

In the 1970s, the company continued to develop and innovate, launching high-energy poultry and hio pig stocks with more fat and amino acids.

In the 1980s, reform and expansion continued, new products: sup-r-blocks.

In 1986, Roston Preina transferred the Preina feed to Britannia Petroleum Corporation.

In 1997, Roston Prena decided to derive Agricultural Standard International Co., Ltd. and develop feed overseas. Every factory in each country holds the Purina Feed Brand.

On April 1, 1998, Nong S&Prina International was officially derived from Roston Prina and became an independent, publicly operated enterprise and listed on the New York Stock Exchange "agx".

In 2001, Agribus International agreed to be acquired by Cargill. After the merger was successful, Cargill proudly introduced the Purina brand feed to its subsidiaries outside the United States.

In the millennium in 2001, the Purina brand became one of the most valuable feed brands.
