Roma Acrylic Products Business Department merged with Saudi Basic Industries (SABIC) Polycarbonate (PC) Film Sheet Business Department to establish a world-renowned acrylic and PC film sheet company POLYVANTIS, providing film, plate, pipe and bar products. , serving multiple market segments such as construction, transportation and aviation, electronics and electrical, automobiles, home and gardening. POLYVANTIS has 16 production sites and 1,500 employees in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, with global sales expected to reach about US$700 million.
In December 2022, Rohm signed an acquisition agreement with SABIC to acquire SABIC's PC film sheet business.
Ronald Ayles, managing partner of the investor Advent International, said: "For the first time, customers will be able to purchase high-quality products such as PLEXIGLAS® PAC® and LEXAN™ film sheets. The merger will prompt two companies to do so. Each business unit accelerates its development and achieves greater success together. POLYVANTIS will integrate the innovative strength and technical expertise of the two business units to provide comprehensive solutions to customers around the world.”
Rohm and SABIC have signed long-term licensing agreements for their respective brands. The PAC® molding materials business still belongs to Roma, while the LEXAN™ PC resin business still belongs to SABIC.
