Minebea uses bearing products as the origin and has more than 60 years of experience in parts manufacturing. In January 2017, Minebea acquired Sanmei, integrating the precision machining, motors, sensors, semiconductors and other technologies of both parties. As of August 1, 2021, the group has currently built 95 manufacturing bases in 27 countries around the world, and the group's turnover in fiscal year 2021 reached 988.4 billion yen.
Shanghai Mebeya Precision Mechanical and Electrical Co., Ltd. was established in 1994 and is located in Qingpu District, Shanghai. It is a wholly-owned factory invested and built by Mebeya Sanmei Group in China.
In the more than 20 years since entering the Chinese market, Minebea Sanmei has continuously introduced new production equipment and production concepts, and regards China as one of its increasingly important global product production bases. In fiscal year 2020, the turnover of China was 215.5 billion yen, accounting for 21.8% of the group's total turnover. As of March 2018, Minebea Sanmei has 13 factories in Shanghai, Suzhou, Zhuhai, Qingdao and other places in China, with sales branches in 16 cities and about 16,000 employees.
