Motorola Inc., formerly known as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation, was founded in 1928. In 1947, it was renamed Motorola and has been used as a trademark since the 1930s. Headquartered in Schaumburg, Illinois, USA, it is located in the outskirts of Chicago.
Motorola split Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions on January 4, 2011. On August 15, 2011, Google announced that it had signed a final agreement with Motorola Mobile to acquire Motorola Mobile's business for a total price of approximately 12.5 billion yuan.
On October 30, 2014, Lenovo Group and Google announced that Lenovo officially completed the acquisition of Motorola Mobile from Google. Lenovo operates Motorola as a wholly-owned subsidiary. After integration, the Moto brand has been launched, and a variety of folding mobile phones, wireless headphones and accessories products have been launched.
