Montes' history seems to be a dream. And that's how it began and slowly became a reality. In 1987, the two founders Aurelio Montes and Douglas Mori, both experienced experts in the industry, wanted to make a huge breakthrough in the quality of Chilean wines at the time. In 1988, Aurerio Montes and Douglas Morrie worked with two other founders, Alfredo Vidali and Pedro Grande, who brought complementary skills and experience to the company. Montes was born, and was originally named Discovery Winery. The dream of four great explorers has finally come true. They have successfully sold Chilean wine to more than a hundred countries around the world, creating first-class wineries that are respected and loved by both tasters and traders around the world, and have attracted the attention of the world. After Montes produced the first Montes OF Cabernet Sauvignon dry red, it was recognized not long after. This wine broke through the model at that time and thus raised the production threshold of Chile's wine industry. Focused, complex, unique and stylish, it succeeded very quickly, which also shows that Montes chose the right path. From the very beginning, Montes has been paying attention to international market standards.

The 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Red was the first quality wine exported from Chile, and soon this brought opportunities to Montes and other Chilean wineries. Montes then launched the precious European-French series: Shadonny, Melo and Syrah. Since its birth, Montes OFF has been determined to become synonymous with the high-quality wine of Chile, with the goal of meeting the demanding needs of professional hotels, restaurants and hotels. Montes' persistent spirit in creating high-quality wines has led Montes to become the pioneer of the Apata Valley, guiding it to plant grapes on the hillside and Syrah in the Kokkagua Valley, constantly innovating production methods and ensuring production quality.

Montes launched the "best" wine in Chile - Montes Ofa M1996 (classic Bordeaux style), followed by Montes Fuller 2000 (pure Syrah, limited production), and in 2005, the Purple Angel (92% Carmenia ). Montes has become Chile's wine ambassador and an industry benchmark for emerging Chilean wineries. Montes' contribution to the Chilean wine industry is to refocus Chileans on high-quality wines. When Montes started, there were only 14 wine export companies in the country, and now there are more than 200.

Even though Montes still sees himself as a medium-sized producer, he still has the support of large comprehensive enterprises and some small businesses. Through huge concessions, hard work and careful care, Montes has been able to sell Montes to every corner of the world. Montes’ goal is to meet the needs of those picky wine lovers in every fine restaurant, hotel and hotel.
