Philips Lumileds was the predecessor of HP's Optoelectronics Division. In February 1999, HP reorganized its business, separated the measuring instruments and optoelectronics business from the IT business, and established a "Agilent Technology" based on this. new company. About ten months later, Agilent and Philips jointly established Lumileds, with each investing half of the investment. In 2005, Philips acquired another half of Agilent Technology's shares, and Lumileds became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Philips, and the company was renamed Philips Lumileds. In 2014, Philips officially completed the cutting and merger of Lumileds LED and automotive lighting, and the new company is called Lumileds.
