The restriction and control of sulfur content in petrochemical products, especially oil products (such as gasoline, diesel, lubricating oil, etc.) has become the focus of environmental protection. According to the new regulations of the China Environmental Protection Bureau, in the petrochemical industry, the total sulfur index of automotive gasoline has been reduced from 1,000pm to 500ppm, and the current national IV standard limit on sulfur content has been reduced to 50ppm. Ordinary diesel has dropped from 2000ppm to 350ppm now. At the same time, the China Maritime Administration stipulates that the sulfur content of fuel used by ships in the emission control zone shall not exceed 0.5% m/m (5000ppm).
