Brand Introduction

The earliest historical records of Lafite can be traced back to 1234 AD. The name of the record was Gombaud de Lafite, which is the Verdeye Monastery located in the north of the village of Poyak. It has been confirmed that the Lafite Castle has been the territory of medieval lords since the 14th century. In the Gascone dialect (Gascon, formerly known as Gascone in the Pyrenees region in southwestern France), "la hite" means "small hill", and "Lafite" is therefore named. At that time, there might have been vines here. However, the real scale has to be formed until the arrival of the Seguer family in the 17th century. It was also in their hands that Rafi gradually gained fame as a great grape plantation. Marquis Jacques de Seguer was the first person to establish the Lafite vineyard, around the 1670s to the early 1680s. His beloved son Alexander inherited the manor in 1695 and married the heir of another famous winery near Latu Castle. After marriage, he had a son, the later famous Nikola Alexander Ser Guer. This is the first chapter of the history written by Lafite and Latu, two famous Bordeaux monks.

As early as the early 18th century, the wines of Lafite Castle had entered the London market. In 1707, the official London Gazette saw the name of Rafi: after unloading goods from a merchant ship controlled by the British pirates and the Royal Navy (at that time the battle for the succession of the Spanish throne was in full swing), Rafi was sold in London. public auctions. General Lafite and his "companions", that is, other French wines that participated in the auction together, were named "New French Red Wine".

The Rafi Rothschild Group develops calmly based on outstanding skills in viticulture and winemaking. The group began with the Lafite Castle, the first winery acquired by the Rothschild family in 1868. The viticulture technology of Lafite Castle has become the source of inspiration and guiding model for other estates: the skills and traditions passed down from generation to generation have been expanded to all the wineries under the group, aiming to cultivate extraordinary and delicate High-quality wine with elegant style gives it the "Lafite spirit".

The "Lafite Spirit" is based on the tradition and rich past rooted in Bordeaux soil, and is based on the inheritance of practical skills from generation to generation, and is guided by the exquisite and outstanding wine they have nurtured. The "Lafite Spirit" is also a spirit of exploration, leading the group to the world, looking for new soil outside the French gates, and cultivating nectar and jade liquid.

The group is centered on the Lafite Castle and is growing continuously. Since 1962, Duhamilon Castle, Les Castle and Lewangji Castle (Pomerhou Produced Area) have been successively acquired. Subsequently, the group's footsteps began to step out of the Bordeaux region and expanded to: Basque Winery (Chile, 1988), Osie Estate (Languedoc, 1999), Kylo Winery (Argentina, 1999), and Since 2008, the Group has also developed a brand new vineyard in Penglai, China.
