KMA Umwelttechnik is a family-owned business managed by himself, initially established by Josef Kurtsiefer as a metal processing company in 1959. At the beginning, the company focused on the production of doors and metal exterior walls. But in the 1970s, the factory architecture changed quickly. Emerging environmental regulations specialize in the food industry's waste gas filtration system. During the company's expansion process, KMA expanded its business scope to other applications such as the metal industry, foundries, textiles and more.

As early as 1973, KMA realized its role as a pioneer. It is precisely based on this awareness that the company's positioning has begun to focus on the emerging environmental protection technology market. Since the early 1990s, the goal of KMA filters is to reduce energy consumption in manufacturing facilities—which has been reduced by 80% compared to the energy required for incinerators.

In 2007, KMA Umwelttechnik GmbH installed more than 2500 air filter systems worldwide. Tailored for many application areas – including many innovative designs and customer-specified solutions. In 2012, KMA's branch Keming Environmental Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai, China. For the Far East market, KMA's sales team is ready to help you at the Shanghai Center in China. Some parts based on the project are produced locally in China, and most of the rest are produced in Germany. In this way, KMA ensures high quality standards for major German factories.
