Suzhou is one of the famous historical and cultural cities in my country. It has a long history of national musical instrument production for more than a thousand years. According to historical records, musical instrument production had initially developed folk workshops in the Song Dynasty. By the time of Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Suzhou musical instrument production artist Qian Junda and Zhang Yucheng were summoned to Beijing to make palace musical instruments for the imperial palace. Due to Suzhou's superb musical instrument production skills, many instruments in the Qing Dynasty were named "Su Di, Su Sheng, Su Guan, and Su Luo" for their own inherent local charm. It was the location of the guild for the musical instrument production in southern Jiangsu (including Shanghai) at that time. After the 1950s, the production of national musical instruments in Suzhou has been fully developed in all aspects, gradually enriching and perfecting musical instrument products with Suzhou characteristics, and improving and discovering ancient musical instruments that are on the verge of annihilation, such as Tang Dynasty musical instruments, guzheng, Chimes, etc.

In the early 1960s, the mahogany professional erhu produced by our factory won the first place in the national industry evaluation, and its shape production is the standard basis for similar products in the entire industry.

In the 1980s, the mahogany professional erhu produced by our factory won the highest honor in the industry - the National Silver Award; 18 varieties such as refined two-section flute, professional Zhongruan mahogany professional pipa, silk string, etc. were awarded the title of high-quality products of the Ministry of Light Industry. The number of award-winning varieties is the first in the same industry.

In the mid-1990s, with the continuous deepening of economic system reform, the former Suzhou National Musical Instrument Factory and Suzhou Tianque Musical Instrument Factory were incorporated into our factory, forming the "Huqiu" brand national stringed instruments, plucked instruments, and wind blowing instruments. There are dozens of product series of "Gusu" national percussion instruments, as well as "Huqiu" and "Jiangnan" instrument strings and various instrument accessories; more than 1,000 ethnic instrument production enterprises. In order to continuously improve product quality, our factory specially invited 42 famous performers and professors from home and abroad to be technical consultants of our factory, hold academic seminars regularly to optimize product quality and meet the needs of professional music groups and musical instrument enthusiasts.

This year, in order to adapt to the needs of market economy development, our factory has been reorganized, and the factory has become a limited liability company. The reorganized enterprises will continue to believe in the factory management tenet of "quality first, user first" and devote themselves to professional literature and art at home and abroad. Group and commercial customer service play a greater role in prospering our country's national musical instruments.
