HomeKit
HomeKit is a smart home platform released by Apple in 2014.
On May 15, 2015, Apple announced that the first batch of smart home devices to support its HomeKit platform will be launched in June.
On June 13, 2016, the Apple Developer Conference WWDC was held in San Francisco, and the meeting announced that builders began to support HomeKit.
Apple released HomeKit, a smart home platform, in 2014. In January 2015, Apple's schedule for launching the HomeKit smart home platform may be delayed, as Apple is still negotiating with related manufacturers on many related support widgets (and the underlying chips they need). At CES held earlier in 2015, several companies such as Elgato and iDevices have officially released their first HomeKit products. The reason why Apple delayed launching HomeKit is because it adheres to "strict performance standards", which is very similar to the current strict certification requirements for AirPlay and MFi.
On June 3, 2015, the first batch of HomeKit smart home products released came from five manufacturers. These products can control lights, room temperature, fans and other household appliances through iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Since the release of iOS 10, people can use the added "Home" app to manage and control smart home devices that support the HomeKit framework.
