George Fischer's GF Auto Group has nine factories in Germany, Austria and China (and partners in North America and Japan) and two R&D centers in Switzerland and China. The company has about 5,000 employees engaged in the research and development and manufacturing of castings, as well as providing complete assembly of iron, aluminum and magnesium alloys for the chassis, power systems, and body structures of passenger and commercial vehicles.
The company uses a variety of common casting technologies such as sand casting, high pressure die casting, as well as processing, connection, assembly, and surface treatment. GF Automobile is committed to reducing the weight of automotive parts and focuses on the sustainability of research, development and manufacturing.
In parallel with the rapidly developing Chinese automobile market, GF Automobile Group also has two powerful factories in China. Established in 2005, the Suzhou factory specializes in high-pressure die-casting of light metals, mass-producing many large and complex products of aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys; the Kunshan factory opened in 2009, specializing in green sand casting of ductile iron. The two factories are closely linked to Europe and are also supported by strong R&D centers dedicated to serving the Asia-Pacific region. The Asia-Pacific R&D Center is located in Suzhou and its functions cover the dual fields of product design and optimization. The company is capable and willing to provide customers with a number of value-added services, including even joint development with customers during the initial design stage of the product.
