Focusrite was founded in 1985 by Rupert Neve. At the time, Rupert Neve designed a series of microphone preamps and equalizers for London's well-known Air Studio recording studio at the request of Beatles producer Sir George Martin. Later, it was born (ISA) series of signal amplifiers that are still very popular. Based on these designs, Focusrite's Forte console was launched in 1988.

Audio industry veteran Phil Dudderidge acquired the company's assets in 1989. A brand new design was ushered in and the well-known FocusriteStudio console was released in 1990. Later, the legendary red series original modules were launched, echoing the original ISA design, etc. The company's name in the 1990s and the products designed later still leave a deep impression in the audio industry.

In 2000, Focusrite designed computer audio interfaces that have won awards, and these are now at the core of the company. Focusrite's other products are also widely praised by world engineers, manufacturers and musicians.
