Brand Introduction

Founded in 1978, FLIR is an advocate for high-performance, low-cost, airborne applications of infrared (thermal) imaging systems. Thermal imaging system detects infrared energy (heat) radiated by everyone, objects, and materials. Infrared thermal cameras enable operators to see people and objects clearly through air pollutants such as smoke and fog in dark environments and inclement weather.

In the late 1980s, FLIR began to use its experience in infrared imaging technology to develop handheld laboratory systems for a variety of commercial applications that require not only excellent image quality but also the ability to detect and measure temperature differences. This work was accelerated with the acquisition of the industrial infrared imaging group from Hughes Aircraft in 1990.

Later, FLIR acquired Agema (Sweden) and Inframetrics (Boston, Massachusetts) in 1998 and mid-1999, respectively, providing support infrastructure for FLIR's engineering and sales teams, accelerating FLIR's success in the commercial thermal imaging market. . Agema and Inframetrics represent over 60 years of major infrared thermal imaging development and thermal imaging application expertise. Agema developed a commercial infrared scanner designed for power line inspection in 1965, developed a battery-powered portable infrared scanner in 1973, and launched a dual-wavelength system for real-time analog recording in 1978 for the R&D field. In 1997, the non-cooled infrared thermal imager - Agema 570 was launched. Inframetrics is also a pioneer in the field of commercial infrared cameras and thermal imaging training. Infrared system was developed in 1975 with TV-compatible infrared systems and in 1995 with a full-featured camera-type focal plane array (FPA) infrared camera.

In 2003, FLIR acquired Indigo Systems - a leading developer and supplier of a wide range of infrared imaging products including refrigerated and non-refrigerated infrared detectors, thermal imager movements and thermal imager complete machines. To date, FLIR has invested in countless adjacent markets, technologies and products to expand its range of sensor solutions and its capabilities to serve a wider range of customers. These investments achieve increased revenue and sales, which helps reduce costs and thus reduce the price of products purchased by users. This has achieved significant growth in customers and increased global awareness of the powerful capabilities of thermal imaging technology. Currently, FLIR operates business in many places around the world, with a total of more than 3,000 full-time employees.
