Federal Mogul Izmit Piston and Pin Production Facilities Inc. was established in 1967 and was acquired by Bivat Bidon and Baril ve Teneke Sanayi A.Ş. on February 13, 1967. On July 11, 1969, the company name was changed to Istanbul Mahler Piston Sanayi A.Ş. On January 8, 1987, the company name was changed to Istanbul Motor Piston ve Pim Sanayi A.Ş. The company is offered to the public under the same name, and the licensing documents of the Capital Markets Commission were dated July 30, 1990, and numbered 107/453. The company name was last changed on March 25, 1999 and took its current form.
In the years when Automobile, one of the world's largest industries, was born, MoM laid the foundation in Detroit, USA. The roots of the Mogul Mogul that will shape the future of the world's automotive industry can be traced back to Muzzy-Lyon, founded in Detroit in 1899. Muzzy-Lyon began producing Mogul engine bearings by further developing the Pappointment alloy used as the main transport tool for engine bearings.
In 1923, it merged with Federal Bearing, a bronze engine bearing expert, and was renamed Federal-Mogul in 1924, and in 1946, it was renamed Formetal, in 1953, it was renamed Bearing Company of America, and in 1955, it was renamed Bower Roller Company and National Motor. In 1955, the Bearing Company merged its subsidiaries, and after that, M&M increased production and became stronger through strategic mergers and acquisitions.
MoM continues to grow and grow by 13 new companies in the 2000s. Combining the technology and superb engineering knowledge with more than a century of accumulation and experience, Mormongers is one of the leaders in today's automotive industry. Federal Mogul Piston Ring and Shirt Production Facilities Inc. was merged into the Mogul Group in 1998. In those years, the UK T&N Plc. Dereli Group was a partner of the Dereli Group, with the Federal Mogul Group acquiring T&N Plc. On October 1, 2018, Tenneco acquired Federal-Moguul.
