Brand Introduction

For more than 2,000 years, humans have realized the power of steam. In the 18th and 19th centuries, steam-powered engines triggered the industrial revolution and changed society. Today, steam is still driving the world. More than half of the world's electricity comes from steam. The key processes of each industry are inseparable from steam. And with the emergence of hydrocarbon prices and supply issues, the role of steam in the global economy may expand again.

The water pipe boiler (1856) was a major innovation in terms of boiler efficiency, pressure and safety. However, boiler pipes are often silted by minerals in the water. In 1895, Willam Swan Elliott obtained the patent for the revolutionary boiler pipe cleaner and set up a company to sell products he invented. In 1910, Elliott was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1914, the Elliott company moved to what is currently Janet, Pennsylvania. Mr. Elliott has grown rapidly with the acquisitions related to steam technology - heaters, lubrication systems, extractors and separators.

In 1923, Elliott acquired Kerr Turbine Company in Wellsville, New York, and transformed from an affiliated equipment supplier to a manufacturer of steam turbine transmissions. The subsequent acquisitions added air and gas compressors to Elliott's product portfolio, and the turbine series also grew from a single-valve YR series turbine to 100,000HP. As a division of Carrier Corporation (1957-1981), Elliott became the world's leader in compression technology, supplying equipment to oil, natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), ethylene and other industries around the world. During this period, Elliott laid the foundation for its global network of repair shops and on-site service teams. Today, the global service network can provide integrated services to any manufacturer’s rotating equipment.

In 1981, after Carrier was acquired by United Technologies Corporation, a new Elliott company was born: Elliott Turbomachinery Company, Inc. In 2000, after retrieving management from United Technologies, Elliott became a wholly owned subsidiary of Ebara Corporation, a Hanada-based company in Japan. Elliott's relationship with Ebara began in 1968, when Ebara obtained a technical license from Carrier to produce Elliott turbines and later compressors. In 1975, Ebara opened a factory in Soura, Japan, using Elliott's design to produce turbine machinery. Now, Elliott has been renamed Elliott Company. The integrated operation of the Elliott Group will provide customers around the world with reliable and efficient rotating equipment and services.
