In the 28th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1902), Le Jingyu, the young master of the Tongrentang in Beijing and the 12th successor of the Lejia family, was commissioned by Shandong Governor Yang Shixiang to prepare for the "Shandong Official Pharmacy Bureau". In the 32nd year of the Guangxu period (1906), the "Shandong Official Pharmacy Bureau" located on Yuanqian Street was established, and Le Jingyu was appointed as the general office of the Official Pharmacy Bureau. In the 33rd year of the Guangxu period (1907), Le Jingyu purchased the Shandong Official Pharmaceutical Bureau's right and renamed it "Hongjitang Pharmacy". In the first year of Xuantong (1909), the "Hongji Rubber Factory" was opened in Dongliushui Street, Zhaotuquan, outside the west gate of Jinan Prefecture. The prototype of "Ling Jiaozhuang" founded by Bai Jingqi in Jinan in "The Great Mansion".
