Brand Introduction

For two and a half centuries, each generation of embroiderers has chosen DMC embroidery thread to create precious family treasures. As DMC enters its fourth century, we will uphold our persistence in color, quality – and our commitment to you. DMC products have been well known in the United States since the 1930s, before DMC entered the United States in 1934.

In the 1970s, in order to facilitate access to Port Elizabeth, the import port of DMC products, DMC moved its former New York-based company to Elizabeth Town. During the 1990s, DMC moved its office and warehouse facilities to its new building in South Carney, New Jersey, as it grew over several years.

Today, DMC has subsidiaries and agents in 100 countries around the world, and DMC products are sold in nearly 130 countries. DMC embroidery thread is still produced in the factory in Mulès, France. About 1,000 workers are divided into three shifts and work day and night. DMC factories adhere to high environmental standards and have their own water circulation system. On December 18, 2009, DMC announced the acquisition of the craft and fabric division of Charlie Crafts Co., Ltd.
