GE Additive develops BinderJetLine metal adhesive jet 3D printing technology, a modern modular industrial additive system that delivers high-quality parts at a cost, scale and safe manner. GE Additive hopes to mass-produce 3D printed metal parts through PBF technology, but finds the disadvantages of this technology, which are high cost and low throughput. In order to solve this problem, GE Additive chose metal adhesive spray as the development direction. This time, it did not acquire companies already in this technology field, but successfully launched Series 3 through internal technical teams. After 4 years of verification and testing, the system has undergone 2 iterations of proprietary adhesive jets based on H1 Alpha and H2 Beta. According to GE Additive, its BinderJetLine metal adhesive jet technology was developed to enable mass production and will not rush to launch the technology until it is ready. In fact, they did exactly that, and before the announcement of the Series3, the company had been working with Beta partners, including big companies in various verticals: Cummins for power generation and automobiles, Wabtec for railroads, Santvi G is used for mining, and Kenna Metals is used for industrial applications for wear and corrosion resistance.
