Walter Lorain Cherry founded CHERRY Corporation in 1953. The first batch of micro switches were produced in the basement of a restaurant in Highland Park, Illinois, USA. After gaining a foothold in the US automobile market, Walter Lorain Cherry embarked on the journey to open up the European market in 1963.
In 1973, CHERRY began to produce computer keyboards. This is an important milestone in the company's history and is still firmly rooted in the genes of the brand and the company. Today, CHERRY is already a long-standing computer keyboard manufacturer.
